What Xournal Wiki does

The site organizes Xournal and Xournal++ information around the questions people ask before and after installation: which file to download, how to choose a Windows architecture, how to install Xournal++ on Linux or macOS, how to write on a PDF, how to use a stylus and how to protect an editable notebook.

Download buttons point to official project release assets or the official project release page. The site does not repackage the application, remove security checks, upload installers to a private mirror or claim ownership of the Xournal++ project.

Who the guides are for

The English guides are written for students, teachers, researchers, artists, engineers and anyone who wants a practical page-based notebook. They cover both first-time installation and small workflow problems such as grid paper, page orientation, PDF export, missing backgrounds, mouse input and LaTeX formulas.

The pages are designed to be useful before a download and after the first launch. A download page should answer the platform question quickly; a guide should explain the file relationships and settings well enough that users can make a safe copy of their work.

How we use project information

Release names, filenames and platform links are checked against the public Xournal++ project sources when the download data is updated. Software releases can change, and a page may be temporarily out of date if the project publishes a newer release before this site is refreshed. Always compare the version and filename on the official release page before installing.

Screenshots and documentation images used in the guides are selected to explain the workflow. They are not presented as original Xournal Wiki software or as a replacement for the official documentation.

Xournal Wiki is not affiliated with, endorsed by or operated by the Xournal++ maintainers. Xournal, Xournal++ and related project names remain the property of their respective owners. References to the project are provided to help users find the correct software and documentation.

A note about downloads

A button that points to an official URL does not guarantee that a file is suitable for every computer or that a third-party network will never fail. Check your operating system, CPU architecture, security prompts and the release filename. Keep a backup of important PDFs and .xopp journals before changing applications or converting files.
